ABOUT US

Welcome to the official blog of YABA | cufc.

'YABA' stands for "Yellow And Black Army", a song bellowed on the terraces at the Abbey Stadium, the home of the famous Cambridge United.

This fan page was created in February 2015 a week after the U's infamous trip to play the biggest club in English football history, Manchester United at the Theatre Of Dreams. After Tom Elliot hit the post in the opening minutes The Red Devils ran out comfortable winners, but the togetherness and spirit showed on that day demonstrated how far we had come in such a short space of time.

Back in the football league again, it was only a year since we were playing in the Conference and 10 years since the club was relegated out of the football league after a 35-year stay, which saw Cambridge one win away from the inaugural season of the Premier League.

That rise back from the ashes in 2005, including Cambridge's two FA Cup ties with Manchester United have increased the clubs following massively. Therefore we wanted to create a base for fans to get their views heard about the club they adore.

In the future, we hope to broaden the mediums in which we operate on. So far we have Twitter (@YABAcufc), YouTube (YABATube) and this blog, where we encourage fans to allow their voices to be heard and enquire about becoming a contributor. We also produce match reports, expert analysis and much more.

Thank you for supporting us!
