Cambridge have shined colours of amber and black in the last 3 games since Dunne has
taken over but could it be the time where things go sour for the Irish Pep Guardiola?

Joe Dunnes who has the backing of many of the fans across Cambridge will be leading United
into a war against an Accrington side who have only lost 1 game in their last 10.

Accrington are playing strong this season and are looking for an improvement on their
2015/2016 league campaign where they finished 4th just a few points outside the automatic
promotion places. Momentarily Accrington are occupying the last automatic promotion place
being 3 points clear of the chasing pack. Accrington has also got the goals from Billy Key who
is League 2’s top goal scorer so far this season with an impressive 19 goals for the club.

Accrington is averaging 3 goals a game in their last 5 matches which really isn’t a surprise
when you see that in the last 5 games they have the joint best points tally with 13 out of a
possible 15 with only Wycombe drawing on points.

The Wham has been a hard place for any team to go this season with the last team able to take
points away being Crawley just before Christmas last year which is going to be a huge
advantage against a United side who have only managed to win once on the road since the
end of September and that was a smash and grab injury time goal against relegation
threatened side Chesterfield.

United though have looked strong in their last 3 games scoring 7 and only 3 conceded which
is marvelous for the squad and Joe Dunne the caretaker manager. Dunne has also become
the only Cambridge United manager/ caretaker manager that has won his first 3 games on the
bounce in the clubs history.

The change that we have seen over the last 19 games is unreal. We have seen 3 wins from
Shaun Derry in his prior 16 matches which included Forest Green and Luton teaching us a
lesson in football to the last 3 matches under Dunne who has yet to make a slip up.

Though this all said the next 5 matches are pivotal to United’s season and where we want to
be, come the end of the season. Currently United are sitting 7 points off of the playoffs with 12
games left to play. One problem with this though is that 5 clubs above United have a game in
hand let alone the other 2 clubs that have 2 games in had, as well as this problem that United
have to overcome the next 5 matches will be the hardest test of the season, Accrington (3),
Luton (1) Wycombe (2) Swindon (6) and Carlisle (12) so as you can see United have to play
in their next 3 games the best 3 teams in the league.

Head to Head stats

The head to head stats do look worrying for united. It is well known that United held the
promotion chasers to a 0-0 draw at the Abbey earlier this season but the rest of the H2H stats
are not too flattering.

United and Stanley have played each other 9 times in the league since 2005 over League 2 and
the National League, Accrington has managed to win 4 of the games 3 have ended in draws and
only 2 have ended in United’s favour. But it is usually quite a goal friendly game when the two
sides play each other averaging 2.7 goals a game.

Can Dunne carry on his teams winning streak and stretch to 4 wins in a row? Or will Accrington
use the Attributes that Key has to offer and unlock our defence to 3 valuable points?
