CUFC vs YEOVIL TOWN (A) PRE-MATCH STATS

By Steven Doggett - STATMAN for YABA

The second away match in 5 days is already upon us, and the destination is to league strugglers Yeovil Town. Yeovil has had quite a fall from grace over the past few years seeing back to back relegation from the Championship all the way down to the depths of league two. They have traded away days at Leicester to a day out at Crewe and with their second season back in League 2 it could get all that much worse for the Glover's as they only sit 5 points away from the relegation zone with a team below them having a game in hand.

The Glover's have faced the U’s a total of 10 times in competitive competition since 1987 with all 4 United wins and a draw coming in the most recent games dating back to 2005, meaning United are 5 unbeaten against Yeovil. But, this is a record-breaking season for all the wrong reasons so don’t chomp to quickly at the bit.

Yeovil are currently sitting 19th in the table on 31 points, whereas United are 7 points better off in 15th place with 38. The U’s season has started to stagnate and the poor form has continued to only 3 wins in the past 14 games. This has seen them go from within a touching distance of the playoffs to 12 points adrift of the top 7 and cautiously looking over their shoulder to the relegation places that are only 12 points away also. The Glover's recent form is almost opposite to United's and have only lost 3 games in their last 8 matches.

Cambridge will have to go to Yeovil on Saturday with the humiliating record of scoring the least goals away from home thus far this season - a grand total of 10. Another worry for Cambridge is that Yeovil has only conceded 16 goals at home all season. However, with Big Uche looking to bag another goal for the season as well as Billy Waters aiming to clinch his 1st of the campaign, Shaun Derry will hope United have enough ammunition to break down Darren Way's men. Not forgetting, as always, the United faithful will follow in numbers.

Up The U’s!!!
